Duquesne Seine Fishing

The fishermen deploy their nets; all the work is done by muscle.

The village of Duquesne is located on a picturesque cove on the northwest corner of Grenada.

Most of the residents of Duquesne turn out to help pull the nets to the beach.

Many of the houses in Duesquene are built on the cliff overlooking the cove.

Tom went down to the beach and helped these fellows pull their net in.

The exciting part was when the net came ashore on the beach full of tuna.

While we were watching the seine net operations, this fellow came down the road selling his bananas.

You guys look great! I love it because I can save the pictures so we can look at them anytime. Also, Mikayla loved the name of your blog: Jean and Tom Service and Schatze the Talking Dog! She had a great laugh... Although I must say you were most brave to be near that snake! Ugh. And Mikayla liked Pop-Pop's face in that one picture of you two at dinner... :)

Love you!
Jen and Mikayla (and Rosie the Talking Dog too)

Thank you Tom for this journey in this area, very very nice pictures! I was in Chaguaramas Bay for a delivery boat in 2007 and i never imagine one area like that near Trinidad. All the best for you and your new crew!
